"Every great dream begins with a dreamer.
Always remember you have within you the strength, the patience
and the passion to reach for the stars and change the world"
Creating is in my blood. Born into a family of artists, theater and art is really all I have ever known. Whether it is as an actor, teacher/coach, choreographer or human-- I want to help my community see their inherent goodness and possibility. As a creative artist, I want to create a shift in perspective; allow my audience to see life through a different lens. Every room I walk into, no matter what creative "hat" I am wearing, I want everyone to feel their worth and value in that space. Creating a sense of community is something that I value deeply.
I was born and raised in the vibrant and creative theater scene of Frederick, MD. I love my hometown and hope to one day go back and make a positive impact on the artistic community there. To be frank, I wasn't very good as a child or even as an early teen, but it is in these years that my passion grew and my perseverance was born. By my senior year, I had won both the studio achievement award at Dance Unlimited as well as The Future Star award from Dance Spirit Magazine.
I was fortunate enough to receive my Bachelors of Music from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. It was here, under the guidance of Jane Pesci-Townsend & Thomas Pedersen, that I continued to grow into the artist I am today. While at CUA, I created community by being involved in the student run theater company, Centerstage. I served on the executive board as secretary and then co-president for my final 2 years of school. It was also through Centerstage and the encouragement of Jane & Tom that my passion for choreography grew, as I choreographed at least 1 show a year for either Centerstage or the musical school main stage.
Upon graduation and after working in the DC area, I packed my bags and moved to the Big Apple. My time in NYC was wonderful, as I met many friends, pounded the pavement and was fortunate enough to get involved in many supportive communities such as The Jen Waldman Studio, Jasper Grant Studio, and Matt Farnsworth Studio. New York led me to the national tour of SPAMALOT with Pheonix Productions, Arena Stage and finally in meeting my business partner, Elise Hearden, and the formation of our company Motivated Movers.
Now based out of Baltimore, MD, I am excited to be able to spend time creating in all of the cities that I love and play my most exciting roles to date: wife & mother.
